I got great news today and I want to TELL YOU!  I guess I also have something to sorta ask you. Well the “yous” that are in the area I live anyway.  So my cousin Parker Carroll was best friends with this guy named Andrew Weishar. They grew up together and eventually were college roommates both playing football. They were really close probably because they were both really nice guys.  If you haven’t noticed I keep using past tense that’s because about a year ago, Andrew passed away from cancer.  HE WAS ONLY 21!!  :( straight up :(.  That is NOT the great news obviously.
No, Im writing this to ask you to come see me at the fundraiser organized by the foundation started in Andrew’s name.  They raise money for other families dealing with cancer.  Pretty awesome cause, right?  AND NOW, my GREAT news!  Chris just told me that he is going to fly home to be at the fundraiser!!!  That’s right, he is coming home earlier than planned and is even going to PERFORM some there too!  I guess there is going to be a lot of fun stuff and bands and FOOD.  So…great cause, great fiancé, great families present…WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO GO???  Exactly!!!  Its on September 1st at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood.  I know it would mean a lot to Andrew’s family and obviously other families that will benefit from this event so please go!! Here my cousin Parker (the one I was just talking about) tells you a little more about Andrew and the event called WeishFest!

"My name is Parker Carroll, and I graduated from OFHS in 2009.  As an alumni of the Oak Forest basketball program, I am asking for your help.  I am on the Board of Directors for the Andrew Weishar ("Wisher") Foundation.  As you may have heard, Andrew Weishar (21, Br. Rice graduate, resident of Midlothian) passed away this past October from colon cancer, and his only wish was that his family and friends do everything they can to give back and help others in need.  This foundation has been set up to commemorate Andrew's life and the legacy he has left on others.  As a foundation, our goal is to provide funds for other organizations and individuals in the area who have struggled, or are struggling in the way the Weishars have after being affected by cancer.  In saying that, we are hosting an event called "WeishFest" on September 1st at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood.  This event will consist of live bands, along with food and beverages for all.  I am asking that you please take a look at http://www.WeishFest.com where you can advance purchase a ticket for this amazing cause, which you can do under the "EVENTS" tab on the site.  More information about the foundation, the event, and ticket sales are on the website - The Andrew Weishar Foundation Thank you all for your tremendous support, and I hope to see you at WeishFest!
            Sincerely,
            Parker Carroll”
THATS IT,,,See you there? I mean SEE YOU THERE!!

What a great cause and legacy for Andrew. All though it is too far for me to attend, I would be happy to donate.

It always humbles me to see people who are able to go past their grief, and help others. They are inspiring. Not in the area but hope it is enormously successful.

Someone posted a link today to Godvine showing a video about your story...so I clicked through....after spending over 3 hours reading the stories about you, Chris, your Mom and your family, I see a story of joy, love and inspiration, a truly remarkable story! Keep painting, it feeds the soul and will lead you to places you never dreamed about.....because that's where art takes us. Much Love.

I was wondering what this event was. I live in Oak Lawn and there are signs posted everywhere in my neighborhood. Will definitely try to stop by. I remember reading about Andrew when he was ill. What a great way to honor his memory!

When i seemed to be thinking what this kind of affair seemed to be. When i reside in Maple Lawn along with you'll find signals placed almost everywhere inside my local community. Is sure to seek to visit. Going reading concerning Tim whenever he / she seemed to be unwell. Precisely what the best way to recognize the storage!

I am soul mates with Chris Medina and am spending the rest of my life recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury. It's been hard but not impossible.  And a lot of good things happened along the way.  Read about them, won't you?
